Privacy policy

This policy explains what RS Standard LLC (“RecallHound,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use the RecallHound service, which includes the RecallHound connector for AI assistants and the website at recallhound.app.

1. How RecallHound works

RecallHound is a tool that AI assistants call on your behalf. When you ask an assistant such as Muse to check an item, the assistant sends us a short description of the item, and we return any matching federal recall records. We do not operate the assistant, and we do not have access to your conversations, your email, your bank connections, or your account with the assistant provider.

2. What we receive

• Item descriptions. Text such as a product name, brand, model number, or listing title.
• Vehicle identifiers. A VIN, or a make, model, and year, when you ask for a vehicle check.
• Purchase scans. If you approve a purchase scan, your assistant sends item names only. We ask assistants not to send order numbers, prices, addresses, or payment details, and we do not use them if they arrive.

3. What we store

• We may retain item descriptions together with the tool used, the match result, and a timestamp. These records carry no user identifier, account, session, or IP address. We use them to improve match accuracy and to measure how well the service works.
• We do not store VINs. A VIN is used to complete your request and is then discarded.
• We do not create profiles, and we cannot link one request to another or to a person.

Please do not include personal information in an item description. If a description contains personal information by accident, write to us and we will delete it.

4. Technical data

Like any internet service, our hosting and security providers process IP addresses and basic request data for a short time to deliver responses, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits. We do not copy this data into our own records or use it to identify anyone.

5. Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and runs no advertising or analytics trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.

6. How we share data

We do not sell, rent, or trade data. To answer vehicle requests we send the VIN or the make, model, and year to public U.S. government services operated by NHTSA and fueleconomy.gov. We use infrastructure providers to host the service and database. We may disclose information if the law requires it. If RecallHound is ever acquired, the retained records described in section 3 may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

7. Your assistant provider

Your use of an AI assistant is governed by that provider’s own privacy policy. When you connect accounts such as email or banking to your assistant, that connection is between you and the provider. RecallHound never receives access to those accounts.

8. Children

RecallHound is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Your choices and rights

Because we do not store information that identifies you, we usually cannot look up, export, or delete records tied to a specific person. If you believe we hold personal information about you, contact us and we will find and delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we will honor valid requests.

10. Security and retention

We limit what we collect so there is little to protect, and we secure what remains with access controls and encrypted connections. Retained item descriptions are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the service, then deleted or aggregated.

11. Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
